Scope of Research
- cultivation and phytochemical analysis of medicinal plants;
- isolation and identification/structure determination of bioactive secondary metabolites;
- quantitative analysis of compounds in plant material;
- studies on the production and biosynthesis of bioactive constituents in plant tissue cultures;
- micropropagation of medicinal plants.

Methods
- Separation and purification of plant constituents:
conventional column chromatography;
preparative thin layer chromatography;
semipreparative HPLC.
- Identification of isolated compounds and their quantitative analysis:
ultraviolet and infrared spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, 1H and 13C NMR (1D and 2D) spectroscopy, HPLC, DAD.
- Others:
callus and cell suspension cultures, Agrobacterium rhizogenes-transformed root cultures, organ cultures.
