Within the Division of Scientific Information and Documentation are the Scientific Information and Documentation Lab, a library, a photographic workshop and a copy centre. The Scientific Information and Documentation Lab is responsible for documenting the Institute's original papers, articles submitted for publication, and lectures given at congresses and symposia. In 1995 the Institute purchased the MEDLINE CD ROM data base (from 1966 until 1998), BEILSTEIN CURRENT FACTS IN CHEMISTRY CD ROM (until 1998), CURRENT RESEARCH IN SEROTONIN and CURRENT CONTENTS which are currently updated. The library handles any problems pertinent to library sciences of importance to the Institute.
The library's collection at the end of 2009:
- 9.403 bound volumes
- 15.738 volumes of journals
- 592 journal titles
- 118 current journals, of which 87 are foreign.
